The Professional Tutors

Daniel Summers will be leading the singing workshops on Wed 11 Apr, he trained in orchestral conducting at the The University of East Anglia before going on to complete an MA in Musical Theatre Performance at the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. Daniel has worked as an actor, musician and musical director in various productions both in the UK and internationally.

He has lead various workshops in dance, drama and singing for the mac, the Hippodrome and the REP across the West Midlands. Recently, Daniel has taken up a position in the musical theatre department at Birmingham Orimiston Academy (BOA). He is also part of the artistic team for Coventry’s Youth Operetta Group (YOG), teaches at the Paule Quirke Academy (PQA) in Coventry and has been artistic director for various performances including four West End Showcases.

Emily Summers is leading the Acting for Stage and Screen Workshop on Fri 13 Apr. Emily is an Actor and Freelance Creative Practitioner, born and raised in the West Midlands. She studied Drama at the University of Exeter, before training at Birmingham School of Acting.

Having worked as a Creative Practitioner and Director for many years now, Emily has been able to strike a balance between performance and facilitation. Since 2014, she has represented Birmingham Hippodrome Creative as a Drama specialist, working with thousands of children across the Midlands, within education, in an extra-curricular capacity and in house at the Hippodrome itself. She has also directed and vocally directed an array of Musicals, working with casts of up to 90 children/young people, including Hairspray, The Jungle Book, Guys and Dolls, Joseph, Aladdin, and The Lion King.
