Susie Self: Quilt Song

This event is presented in collaboration with Susie Self's Quilt Song

Quilt Song is an upbeat musical-opera composed by Susie Self for the Birmingham community. It emulates the hit Hamilton with charismatic music performed by professional soloists and orchestra with rising stars from Birmingham Ormiston Academy.

The show celebrates social inclusivity by using quilting as a metaphor. Its lyrics are sourced from John Drinkwater's Abraham Lincoln which premiered at The Old Rep (then Birmingham Repertory Theatre) in 1918.
