Artsmark is the creative quality standard for schools and education settings, awarded by Arts Council England, recognising their commitment to high quality arts and cultural education.
The Old Rep Theatre is proud to be supporting schools and education settings on their Artsmark journey, inspiring children and young people to create, experience, and participate in great arts and culture.
We work with educational settings across the West Midlands to help them on their Artsmark journey with the following offers:
Key Skills: Devising, Monologues & Physical Theatre Workshops
Suitable for: Key Stages 4-5 & Teachers
GCSE and A-Levels throw open an exciting range of opportunities for students and teachers. The chance to devise your own work from scratch, to use new and exciting styles of theatre and to work on your own audition-style monologue can be wonderful, but it can also be very daunting. The Old Rep Theatre can assist you, with workshops tailored to your needs. We can explore a variety of approaches and practitioners including:
- Frantic Assembly
- Devising & New Writing
These workshops are also available as CPD for teachers.
Cost: Varies, approx. £150-£200 for a full day of workshops.
Show + Workshop: Exclusive Deals
Suitable for: Primary Schools
Some of our productions offer free workshops and ticket subsidies when you book a certain number of tickets with us. See below for current offers:

Extended Creative Projects
Suitable for: All ages & stages
Want something more substantial than a one-off workshop? The Old Rep Theatre has a dedicated team of practitioners, working across a diverse range of styles & disciplines including:
- Musical Theatre
- Physical Theatre
- Shakespeare for Young People
- And many more!
If you’d like to explore some of these disciplines over an extended period, perhaps even create your own show with students at your school, The Old Rep Theatre can help. We will help you access funding to make these projects happen, and provide the practitioners to run them, on a timescale that suits you. These projects can be tailored to suit your needs and interest; please contact us to discuss.
