Visiting as a Family

We have a long history of welcoming children of all ages to The Old Rep, whether that is visiting as a patron, taking part in our workshops or performing on stage. Please have a read through the information below if you are visiting as a family, in order to have a fantastic time.

We are always looking to improve our services at the theatre. Please get in touch if you think anything can be improved for your next visit.

Children in the theatre

All persons over the age of 3 and younger than 16 are considered children. Any child over the age of 3 who is able to sit unaided must have a ticket to attend the event. Children must be supervised at all times by a responsible adult over 16.

Booster seats

We have a limited number of Booster seats available at The Old Rep. All you have to do is enquire with a member of our Front Of House team who will assist you. We recommend that you arrive early if your child requires one.

Babes in arms

Babes in arms tickets for infants aged 3 and under, are charged at a nominal rate of £2 and are only available for family performances. If the performance is not designed for children aged 3 and under, babes in arms tickets will not be available.

Please note: Babes in arms must sit on the lap of a parent or guardian and will not have access to a seat of their own.

FAmily tickets

Family tickets are available for selected performances. Please see the event page or ask our Box Office team for details. A family ticket admits a group of 4 with a maximum of 2 adults.

Age suitability

We aim to provide age suitability recommendations for all of our performances, particularly family performances. Where possible, we will also provide details of any content that may be disturbing to children. This information is for guidance and we ask parents to use their discretion when selecting suitable events. Please see the event pages or ask our Box Office team for details.

Baby change facilities

We have baby changing facilities in the accessible toilet in the Hinckley bar.

Buggies & Pushchairs

Buggies and pushchairs cannot be taken into the auditorium. Due to the age and structure of the building, storage space is limited and, while we try to accommodate them, we ask that patrons try avoid bringing buggies and pushchairs where possible.

Breastfeeding

We hope you will feel comfortable to breastfeed your child at The Old Rep. If you would prefer some privacy, please speak to a member of staff who will be able to assist.

Family Arts Standards

The Old Rep is proud to hold the nationally recognised Family Arts Standards. We aim to offer an enjoyable experience for children and families.

Please do let us know if there is anything we can do to make your visit a little easier.
