Give the gift of theatre this festive season!
We believe that it is vital every young person has access to inspirational theatre that excites, entertains, and enlightens. For those that come through our doors for the first time it can be a life-changing event – inspiring minds and illuminating the path to a lifetime of enjoyment and new possibilities.
The Old Rep, with its year-round programme of performances, creative events, and workshops, is a vital gateway to a new life of imagination, and we are committed to supporting young people to achieve their dreams. The creative sector in the Birmingham area employs over 50,000 people and The Old Rep plays a huge part in providing young people access to a wealth of careers by identifying future talent, inspiring young people, and unleashing their creative energy. However, we know that theatre can be prohibitively expensive and in Birmingham there are over 100,000 children living in poverty (the equivalent of 37% of all children in the city).
You can help us to offer tickets to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds by paying forward the cost of a ticket for someone who wouldn’t otherwise be able to visit us; you can give vulnerable children, young carers, newly arrived refugees, and people in communities hardest hit by the pandemic the chance to experience great live theatre at the Old Rep Theatre – it might just be the first step towards a brighter future for all.
